Just stopping in to say to “Hi!”
Out of town guests came to stay with us for a few days. It was so nice to catch up with family we haven’t seen in ages, but it’s also nice to have the house to ourselves again. You know, not needing to hide the laundry baskets or make sure the kitchen sink is devoid of any dirty dishes.
The sun has finally decided to stay awhile. That’s always a good thing. I was finally able to hook up my daughter’s computer to our internet network. That’s an EXCELLENT thing! (Computer savvy, I am not, in spite of rumors to the contrary.
)
I’ve been doing some volunteer work for DS’s band. It’s a great organization except that it doesn’t have much organization! Hmmm… Think Keystone cops… Sigh.
I’m getting a bit nervous about DS’s impending 10 day bus tour around the country with the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. I know he’ll be fine and he’ll do great…but I am a nervous Nelly.
On top of that I hate flying and I decided to fly to DC to see DS perform at the Kennedy Center next month. It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. So I figured I absolutely HAVE to be there, even if I die trying to get there.
(There’s hope for some people.
)
Well, lots to do before it’s time to play taxi again, so I best get to it.
(P.S. Stop in on the next drive-by and let’s do tea!
)

I know what you mean about having your house to yourself again. I love having company but I also love it when they leave. I guess we have been by ourselves to long and I know we are set in our ways. I hope you have a great weekend. I will be working all weekend but I don’t mind. When I took the job as a receptionist at the urgent care clinic I knew I would be working weekends.
i know you’ll be glad that you forced yourself to fly (and didn’t die) to be a part of this potentially once in a lifetime experience.
i’m all about dirty dishes and laundry piles!
Have a good trip to DC to see your son play. You must be so proud of him!
Thanks, Carla! I am proud of him. He has worked very hard to get to this point. I hope he has a great experience with the band. I’m sure they’ll be exhausted by the end of a 10 day bus tour.
